It was good to chat with you regarding this position and has helped me further to see what I can offer and bring to this role at the Mobile Music Hub.
As you’ll see from my Music CV and our chat, I have a wide experience of not only delivering musical educational projects with various schools, organisations and venues, creating music as a lyricist, songwriter and performer plus extensive work as an arts consultant for Primary Schools which has included networking with various funders and arts organisations.
I have experience of setting up my own music making projects (Big Music (www.lauraloftmusic.com/bigmusic) and developed networks with local and national organisations plus regularly attend CPD sessions with a variety of deliverers.
My fundraising experience has been based firstly around starting my own music sessions under the name of Lofts Music Shed. I delivered at Exeter Phoenix the Young Singer Songwriter Club, Summer Sessions and Lightbulb Sessions. We were funded by Devon Music Education Hub. Since then I have been successful with funding for my Big Emotions project (music and wellbeing for EYFS/KS1 www.lauraloftmusic.com/big-emotions) with DMEH, Help Musicians and Community Champions plus funding for schools with DMEH & Universal Sound.
Prior to this I have an Arts Marketing background working with Exeter Phoenix for 4 years as Marketing Officer and freelancing for various charities and projects. This has included developing press contacts, creating content for marketing campaigns and press releases.
As a person I feel like I am very engaged and passionate about the projects I am focusing on and an advocate for music making a difference not only in learning new skills but also for mental health and wellbeing. It is a privilege to see firsthand the difference music can make in young people’s lives. It's been inspiring to see the work delivered so far by Mobile Music Hub and it's clear you have an important role with a lot to offer especially focusing on rural communities and isolated young people. There are many benefits to music reaching these communities in usual times, but with the effect of the pandemic I feel your project will hold extra importance and create a lasting impact in young people’s lives.
I am a thoughtful and deep thinker and engage well with reflective practice during sessions and after. I feel I can offer a good ear for this plus strategic advice if required.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon,
